Description
The Bruker SKYSCAN 1174 scanner is a bench top X-ray micro computed tomography (micro-CT) system, which is a non-destructive imaging tool for the production of high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) images of a target specimen. The micro-CT scanner can scan a wide variety of samples, including biological samples, organic soft materials, and inorganic materials. Micro-CT 3D image acquired from the scanner reveals the internal structure of an object without having to destroy the object itself. The scanner uses an X-ray source (up to 50kV) to perform the micro-CT 2D/3D imaging, and the 3D spatial resolution of the image is down to 6 µm. The ideal object size for testing in this scanner is an object with 5 – 30 mm in diameter and 5 – 50 mm in length (50mm vertical travel).
