Science Outside the Lab
The Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure-Southwest Node of the NNCI will once again be sponsoring the “Science Outside the Lab” experience in Washington, DC in June 2018. This program gives graduate student scientists and engineers a peek inside the bureaucracy of the federal government to get a better understanding of how it both uses and shapes scientific research.
The program is an excellent opportunity for those students interested in understanding the role and impact that science has on not just the political world, but our social world as well. NSF sponsorship provides funding to cover travel to and from DC, housing and some meals, and all the program fees for the week.
