The Blood Glucose Monitor: Exploring and Modeling Diabetes Monitoring

Students are introduced to glucose monitors, how these biosensors are being improved with naontechnology, and they test glucose levels.The purpose of the lab is to measure the glucose concentration of several synthetic blood and urine samples to determine which patients have diabetes. Students will also build models based on the conservation of mass to further their understanding of the role of insulin on the concentration of glucose in the blood.
